Farm and Pond program - Spring 2008
At Highlands Outdoor Education and Science Centre, your class will have a fun-filled time while you complete specific expectations of the Ontario Curriculum. We offer a great selection of dynamic programs!
Why not make the most out of your trip and combine two half-day programs to create a full day of hands-on experiential learning!
All programs and activities at Highlands Outdoor Education and Science Centre have been cross-referenced to the current Ontario Curriculum for your convenience and cover a wide range of both specific and general expectations from strands. All programs incorporate language requirements through writing, reading, oral and visual communication components that are inherent in all of our on site activities. All Programs are dynamic and adaptable to your class.
Bag lunches are always welcome. Cold and hot drinks are available for purchase.

INFORMATION
Ø All Programs must be reserved in advance and are designed as half-day sessions for a
minimum of 12 students and a maximum of 30-40 students
Ø Programs run rain or shine (unless extreme weather conditions are forecasted).
Ø Supervisors are expected to remain with their group throughout the visit (program/lunch) and
are responsible for discipline
- HOT DOG LUNCHES!!! Highlands provides the campfire/cooking sticks, you provide the hot dogs and condiments!!
- For April and November - combining a half day indoor program with a half day outdoor program makes a great combination!!
e.g. grade 4 Rocks and Minerals (indoor) with Survival on the Niagara Escarpment (outdoor) or Wayfaring (outdoor)
- For December to March - Winter elective programs are in effect.
