Highlands Outdoor Education Overview
Highlands Outdoor Education Centre (HOEC) is located on two hundred acres of the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Biosphere reserve.
HOEC programs are based on the Science and Technology, Health and Physical Education, Social Studies and History strands of the Ontario Curriculum for elementary school children.
HOEC runs throughout the school year with the emphasis being in Fall and Spring. Both half day and full day programming is offered, as well as residential stays.
All programs run out of the Highlands Nordic Lodge which features three classrooms and a large cafeteria.
Overnight, the students and supervisors will be housed in a large, three story farmhouse.

Cost
$9.00 per program per student (Teachers and Parents do not pay for programs)
(*note – each program runs for 2 hours and is led by a trained Highlands Nordic instructor.)
Farmhouse: $250.00 per night
Location: Highlands Nordic Ski and Outdoor Centre is located just 10 minutes South of
Collingwood and West of Duntroon off either Hwy #124 or CR91, on 1182 Conc.10.

GENERAL INFORMATION
All Programs must be reserved in advance and are
designed as 2 hour (half-day) sessions for a
minimum of 12 students and a
maximum of 30-40 students
Programs run rain or shine
(unless extreme weather conditions are forecasted)
Supervisors are expected to remain with their group
throughout the visit (program/lunch) and
are responsible for discipline.
Hot dog lunches! We provide the campfire/cooking sticks, you provide the hot dogs and condiments!
Facility is Wheel Chair accessible - ATV carrier on site
